First off, I just got the damn thing back less than 2 months ago….and the day before yesterday I was listening to some music on my laptop while I was tidying up my desk area, and then it just STOPPED, and when I looked at the screen, it was all blue with some words on it about the SMART failure detected that my hard disk 2 is FAILING!!!! ugh!!! I still haven’t even had this laptop for a year and this is the second time its screwing up. I’m pretty pissed at this point since we just took it to Best Buy a couple of months ago and they replaced the hard drive, and now this. Luckily this time my dad got me an external hard drive for storing stuff, so I was able to back up all my photos/music onto it. I deleted every photo and music file I had on there, and uninstalled any new software I recently downloaded in case it might help, but it still says the same thing. ugh. It wouldn’t be too big of a deal except I have to drive 2 hours to get to the store where I bought it from as there is no other Best Buy within a 2 hour radius of our town. gah!
Anyway, I didnt post yesterday, and I didn’t even put up my photo-a-day. I distinctly recall that last year I had to stop doing my photo-a-day because my desktop died, which is why I went and bought this stupid laptop in the first place. So in the time span of 1 year, my desktop died, and now my laptop is having issues TWICE taht will require me to get it fixed. At least the laptop is under warranty still, but the drive, bah!
I was working as usual yesterday, and my son’s school called me, he had a slight fever of 100.1, they said anything over 100 they do not keep the kids at school, so I went to pick him up. He looked tired and zoned out like he didn’t feel well, so I brought him home, tried to feed him soup for lunch but he would barely touch it. He did drink his juice though. I gave him some Children’s Tylenol and put him down for a nap. Before I fed him I re-took his temp and it said 100.2 on my thermometer. He woke up from his nap a couple of hours later, and his temp was HIGHER, I took it and it was 102.3. So, the Tylenol did nothing for him, but its really cold and windy out, so I didn’t want to take him out. Thankfully my dad had decided to work from home yesterday and happened to call, and he brought Ian some Children’s Motrin, which brought his fever down to 99.3. I gave him some dinner and put him to bed that night, giving him another dose of Children’s Motrin at bedtime, and he woke up with no fever (98.3) this morning and said he felt great, he WANTED to go to school. So, off I sent him. I’m so glad he is loving school right now.
That was my Tuesday. how about yours?
No to bad. Hope your laptop holds up!
