Come on y’all, lets head over yonder to the county fair

So, my new friend Christine and I took our boys to the county fair last night. It was me and Christine, her son River (who was on Ian’s t-ball team) and Ian…

It was a little warm, but not too bad, humid more than anything…so off we go, they had a carnival part and an auction part with the fresh scent of cow dung permeating through the air….lol…and the carnival was downwind from that stuff, haha…yummmmm, lol

Christine told me she planned to countrify me, hahaha….

So, we get there and we go to check out the mud bogg…which for us city folks would be where they have a big thing of MUDDY WATER/MUD and they drive through it…and get muddy? Not sure what the point is, but the boys really liked it….

So, we get to the mud bogg area, and it was just some wet dirt, not quite enough to be considered mud, and of course all the locals are not thrilled with that, haha, so River starts saying he’s hungry and wants a corn dog, so off we 4 go towards the food stands, finally find a stand that has the darn corn dogs, haha, so we get our food and sit down under a canopy to eat… not long into eating we see these very dark clouds rolling in, fast…

So then it starts raining hard and got pretty windy, the kids are starting to freak out cause kids are screaming and the adults are running under the canopy we were sitting at. I’m here enjoying the scene, but Christine is freezing from the wind and rain coming in and the kids are freaking and hiding under the picnic table…

So we end up running through the rain to the barns where all the livestock were at…we ended up in the freaking COW one….but now everyone is soaked, and we stood there a good 10 minutes and realized it wasn’t gonna let up any time soon, so the mom in me decides to snap more shots….

Nothing says purdy like cow ass and flowers….

And some shots Ian took with my camera….

And then the rain let up finally and we walked back to let the kids ride at the carnival rides

Then we made our way to the mud bogg again to see if it was any better…during this time I called that guy I’ve been exchanging e-mails with and talking to on the phone the last 2 days, and we talked a bit before he had to go to work…and we watched the mud boggers….ok, that’s probably not a word, but I’m not used to the lingo yet, haha…. It was all fun till River and Ian were running around in the muddly long grass, which was slippery, and poor River slipped and fell…we left shortly after this, he wasn’t too happy about the mud all on his side and arm…

And then we headed home, the little ones were tired and Christine and I made plans to hang out today, Saturday. THe boys will get a sleep over, and us gals and I think her man will relax, have a few drinks and shoot the shit, or whatever they say around here…and I”ll be crashing on their couch….

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
